Guests looking to get to Walt Disney World from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) have a few different options since the shuttering of the Magical Express service back in early 2022. One of the options that has proven popular is the Mears Connect service. With oil prices surging due to President Donald Trump’s war with Iran, Mears Connect has announced a fuel surcharge for all reservations, effective immediately.
Mears Connect Announces Fuel Surcharge
While Mears Connect advertises “no surge pricing, unlike Uber & Lyft”, it seems that the service is unwilling to eat the additional cost in fuel, and has introduced a fuel surcharge.
According to a notice on the Mears Connect website, a 3% fuel surcharge will be added to all reservations until further notice.
Mears Connect Standard Service is currently priced at $32.00 per adult for a roundtrip between MCO and Walt Disney World. Child rates for roundtrip Standard Service is $26.00.
For Express Service, which is packaged as a roundtrip only, pricing starts at $250 for a total of five people. The express service is a round trip, direct service to your resort and back to the airport with limited to no wait time.
A 3% fuel surcharge represents somewhere between an additional $1 for an adult roundtrip, or more than $7 for the Express Service.
