Review: Hocus Pocus Amuck Cupcake at Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom

The Sanderson Sisters are back! It may still be 76 days until Halloween, but that doesn’t mean it’s too early for a themed cupcake (or even the first Not-So-Scary Halloween Party later tonight). Before we get to the party treats, we’re going to cover some of the seasonal bites that are not exclusive to the party, but will be available daily throughout the park.

Hocus Pocus to Amuck Cupcake – $7.99

The Hocus Pocus Amuck Cupcake can be found at the Main Street Bakery (or Starbucks), and is available on a daily basis through November 1st.

The cupcake features baked peanut butter chips, chocolate candy bits, and toffee. It’s filled with a caramel sauce and topped with an edible cake “cauldron” iced with chocolate buttercream and garnished with a white chocolate decoration featuring the Sanderson Sisters.

We’ll start with this…it’s a very messy cupcake. Not only is it huge and overflowing with sugar, the icing used will stay with you for the day, black lips, black tongue, and if you are unfortunate enough to get it on your fingers, it’ll look like you just came from a fingerprinting at the police station.

As for the flavors, the caramel was pooling at the bottom of the cupcake, participating only slightly in the overall flavor profile. Actually, pretty much none of the promised flavors of peanut butter or toffee showed up. It’s a really basic cupcake that, besides the size and fun print, isn’t worth the $8 tendered. You can safely pass on this cupcake and just use one of our photos for your Instagram. If you’re looking for a fall treat in Magic Kingdom, we recommend heading over to Auntie Gravity’s for their Pumpkin Spice offerings!

    1. I wish I’d read this review before buying it. I was so excited for this cupcake when I first heard about it. I mean, it contained three things I love most–chocolate, peanut butter and caramel! Sadly, there was little caramel or peanut butter flavoring to be found. It really is your standard chocolate bakery cupcake, just a bit prettier. A total waste of money (or a snack credit) if I do say so myself.
