Latest Aerial Look at The Cove Hotel Construction at Swan and Dolphin Complex; Foundation Work Begins (November 2019)

We’re back with another aerial look at some Walt Disney World construction. While we’ve recently taken a look at the construction of The Cove hotel from the ground, we wanted to provide an aerial look at the construction as well to get a good overview of the site.

We’ll start with a wide shot to get our bearings. You can see the Swan and Dolphin compex in the upper right of the image. The Cove is essentially being built on the former tennis court area as well as some surrounding parking lot. In the photo below, you can also see a portion of the Fantasia Gardens Mini Golf area.

Here’s a similar angle from Google Maps that shows the tennis court, parking lot, and events pavilion. All have been demolished to make room for the new hotel.

Continuing on with the aerial tour, we can see some utilities work and staging on the south side of the construction site.

A closer look at the permits for the project shows that this southern end of the site will eventually just be parking lot.

It’s the north end of the site that will contain The Cove hotel, and that’s where we turn our attention. In the photos below, you can see that the first of two tower cranes has been installed, with a second on the way.

A closer look shows that foundation work has begun next to the second tower crane.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to bring you the latest news and photos from around the Disney Parks!
