ProSlide Currently Retrofitting Blizzard Beach Attraction for 2020 Season

The IAAPA Expo is underway at the Orange County Convention Center, and while the vast majority of the expo centers around the themed entertainment industry as a whole, there are some interesting Disney tidbits to be found.

While visiting the ProSlide booth, we noticed that they had Blizzard Beach on the upcoming projects list. Of course, ProSlide has built a majority of the slides at Blizzard Beach, but the interesting thing that we noticed was that they had the park on the list of upcoming work.

While it might be easy to assume that this is for a new attraction, speaking with the representatives for ProSlide revealed that they are doing work on an existing attraction that they built decades ago.

According to the representatives, they are currently retrofitting an existing “Mammoth” attraction. After looking at their brochure, a Mammoth attraction would be better known to Disney fans as Teamboat Springs.

Further discussion with the representatives revealed that they are planning on retrofitting the slide with new and improved elements during the current off season, which ends in January 2020. ProSlide was very excited to talk with us about their work at Blizzard Beach, and said that they can’t wait for guests to be able to return to the park to see the updated classic.

So, maybe not as flashy as a brand new ride, but we can’t wait to see how the attraction is improved when it reopens in January 2020.
