Sneak Peek Inside Animal Kingdom’s Club 33 – Harambe House

The final Club 33 location is now open at Walt Disney World. Harambe House is the Animal Kingdom location of the private club that Walt Disney himself started in Disneyland. To become a member reportedly requires 10’s of thousands of dollars up front and annual dues north of $10,000. Each Walt Disney World theme park has a Club 33 location (Adventureland in Magic Kingdom, The American Adventure in Epcot, above the Brown Derby in Hollywood Studios, and now Harambe House in Africa).

While visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom recently, we walked by the new location and found it incredibly easy to see inside. While we aren’t at risk of becoming Club 33 members anytime soon, we figured we’d see what we could from the regular guest areas and wanted to share what we could see. Let’s head out to Harambe!

    No, not that Harambe…

    …this Harambe.

Harambe House is tucked back along a pathway that takes guests between Pandora – The World of Avatar and the rest of the African land in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It’s near the Festival of the Lion King and accompanying restrooms.

As you can see, the theming fits in with the rest of Africa, from the outside at least.

Thelathini na tatu is Swahili for 33.

The club is seemingly split into two areas. The white building appears to be more of a lounging space, with various chairs and couches, while the yellow building looks to be the bar space, with wine on tap. Here’s a look at what we could see, including some impressive artwork.

    1. I’m curious if anyone knows the purpose of club 33. Does this money fund some sort of charity or Disney charter program or is it literally just a pride and prestige money grab for Disney?

      • It funds nothing other than Disney’s corporate coffers. It’s a refuge for those with money to get away from the crowds and enjoy some exceptional Disney perks (for a steep cost).

    2. It’d retain its exclusivity if there was only one. Like there always was before. Indeed, simply appears like a money grab at this point.

      • Yeah, like going to WDW isn’t special because it’s just a copy of Disneyland, and going to Disneyland anymore isn’t special because it’s no longer “exclusive.” Disney parks are just money grabs at this point.

        Totally makes sense.

    3. It is sad to see the way disney, such a magical place is heading, Express pass that are ridiculous, for normal people, so u have to wait hours n hours to get on a tide, special clubs, for 10s of thousands of dollars, it’s sad
