It’s Official: Tomorrowland PeopleMover to Reopen This Weekend at Magic Kingdom

According to Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle, the Tomorrowland PeopleMover will be reopening this weekend at Magic Kingdom – a week ahead of the previously announced schedule, but months and months after it was likely intended to happen.

The Tomorrowland PeopleMover has been closed for more than a year now – unrelated to COVID-19. The attraction has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment that BlogMickey.com was told was meant to prevent the ride vehicles from colliding – something that has happened in the past and led to multiple lawsuits. We caught video of the ride vehicles slamming into each other back in January as the ride was testing.

Since then, the ride has been operating quite smoothly and Cast Members have been retraining on the new system that will automate much of the vehicle spacing.
