Earlier this month, the Florida Division of Emergency Management closed the COVID-19 testing site on Walt Disney World property. The site was known as the Maingate testing site and was located just minutes from Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The site originally opened back in August 2020 and served Cast Members and guests alike. It was also open to the public at large.
With more and more Americans getting vaccinated, Disney World is starting to relax some of their COVID-19 protocols. Perhaps the biggest difference in a Walt Disney World visit today is the ability to take off your mask in all outdoor common areas.
Disney has also begun to relax physical distancing around their theme parks and resorts. Disney CEO Bob Chapek expects that the theme parks will look more normal in terms of operations and safety measures later this summer.
