First Disney World Playground Reopens Following COVID-19 Closures with No Physical Distancing, 70% Capacity

As part of the initial health and safety measures taken at Walt Disney World, all playgrounds and play areas in the theme parks were closed. Now, the first theme park playground has reopened! Over the weekend, the playground in the Dumbo queue reopened with no physical distancing markers and slightly reduced capacity.

Cast Members are not instructing guests to maintain any physical distancing, but face masks are still required per park-wide rules about indoor spaces. Cast Members told us that the playground is operating at about 70% capcity or about 100 guests.

As before the COVID-19 pandemic, you are able to enjoy the playground while your spot in line is maintained thanks to a pager system. Guests are handed a pager when they enter the optional playground, and they are paged when it is their turn to ride based on current wait times when they entered the playground.

There is minimal signage reminding guests that face masks are required.
