First British Travelers Arrive in Central Florida Following Easing of COVID-19 Travel Ban

Following new rules from the Biden Administration, the first British travelers arrived from Manchester, England this afternoon at the Orlando International Airport (MCO). The new international travel policy requires all travelers to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before they can travel.

After more than 19 months without passenger service to the United Kingdom, Virgin Atlantic flight 91 touched down at MCO just past 2:30pm. Not only did United Kingdom service resume with the flight from Manchester, England, but a new direct service to London/Heathrow started today as well.

Travelers were welcomed like royalty with treats, a photo booth, and crowns courtesy of MCO.

Travelers were not only tourists but reunited family members as well. Here are some scenes from Terminal A this afternoon.

Dozens of travelers made their way down to the first level of the Orlando International Airport to board the Magical Express to Walt Disney World. The Magical Express service will be discontinued in 2022.

Disney even welcomed back international travelers to their domestic theme parks with a lengthy blog post and welcome video.

International travel makes up a significant portion of Disney World visitation during certain times of the year and today is a big step in a return to normal for the theme parks.
