Shanghai Disneyland Zootopia Attraction Poster & Ride Vehicle Model Revealed at D23 Expo 2022

As part of the Wonderful World of Dreams Disney Parks pavilion at the 2022 D23 Expo, guests can get a sneak peek at what’s next for Disney theme parks around the world. One of the displays is for the Zootopia-themed land coming to Shanghai Disneyland.

Originally announced in January 2019, the Zootopia land will invite guests to experience the mammalian metropolis of Zootopia “where anyone can be anything,” with a new major attraction that will seamlessly blend Disney storytelling and state-of-the-art technology to bring this fan-favorite movie and its characters to life – including Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. Based on the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ hit animated movie, this development will be the park’s eighth themed land and the first-ever “Zootopia”-themed land at any Disney park.

Here’s a look at previously released concept art, which is also on display within the Wonderful World of Dreams pavilion at the 2022 D23 Expo.

At the 2019 D23 Expo, Disney released this piece of concept art, which shows a little more of the City of Zootopia.

Fast forward a bit, and we’ve seen some construction milestones as crews make progress on the project, but official details are still pretty light. As we await the “Boundless Future” panel by Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro, we wanted to take a look at the attraction poster and ride vehicle maquette on display at the 2022 D23 Expo.

First, here’s a look at the attraction poster. As you can see below, Nick and Judy are prominently featured as they race through the city in a police vehicle. Both Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps are in police uniforms and another police vehicle appears behind them. They appear to be driving through a polar section with snow buildings and polar bears present. Other parts of the city can be seen behind them as well.

Also on display is a ride vehicle maquette, a miniature model of the vehicle that guests will board for the attraction. The ride vehicle is a police car and can fit five guests in two rows.

Imagineers that we’ve spoken with didn’t want to share any details about the ride but expect that D’Amaro will have more to discuss during the upcoming Disney Parks D23 panel. Here’s a look at the model.
