When Soarin’ Around the World returns on February 28th, there are no expected changes to the film, according to a report from Scott Gustin. That means that guests will still experience Future World, the Fountain of Nations, and the old layout of the front of EPCOT during the finale portion of the film.
Many Disney fans had hoped that the film would be updated when it returns, but with work still ongoing for the CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza sections of the renamed World Celebration, Disney will keep the old version of EPCOT in the film. Fingers crossed for a new finale sometime later this year.
That’s probably not how Disney drew it up, but with the EPCOT Overhaul continuing to drag along, there was no opportunity to film a new finale. Of course, the Around the World version is largely CGI, so we could’ve been treated to a concept art flyover, but that doesn’t seem to be in the books.
The last day to experience Soarin’ Over California at EPCOT will be on February 27th.
