Good morning, fellow Smellephants enthusiasts. As we continue to await the arrival of scented elephants that celebrate Disney’s partnership with multi-level marketing company Scentsy, Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a permit that would suggest that the parade has nearly arrived.
The deal between Disney and the MLM was inked back in June 2021. During the initial announcement that Scentsy would become the Official Home Fragrance of the Walt Disney World Resort, the press release also described a “new guest experience” coming to Fantasyland.
The permit, filed by Walt Disney Imagineering, taps ThemeWorks Inc. for the work of “Installation of show sets” in Storybook Circus. ThemeWorks Inc. has a long history of themed entertainment work, including work with Disney World. They have won industry awards for projects such as Star Tours, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Diagon Alley, Shanghai Disney Resort, Pandora – The World of Avatar, Flight of Passage, Volcano Bay, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure, and more.
Nearly two years after the initial announcement, the world was treated to a first look at concept art for the Smellephants on Parade. Smellephants is described as a “family-friendly ‘search and sniff’ adventure”. Here’s a look at the concept art.
