Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Update: Construction Walls Pushed Back, “Main Entrance” Sign Arrives, New Props, and More

Good afternoon from Magic Kingdom where we’re taking an updated look at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The attraction is scheduled to open this summer at Magic Kingdom, and crews are putting the finishing touches on the ride as afternoon testing continues.

It’s been a little while since our last update on the ride, so we’re going to get caught up in this article, taking a look at some of the changes since our last look at the ride.

More Scaffolding Removed

With most of the set dressing done for the salt dome “mountain”, more scaffolding has been removed from the face of the facade. There is still quite a bit of scaffolding installed in other parts of the queue and ride, but here’s a look at some of the cleaner views from our visit today.

Construction Walls Pushed Back

Construction walls have been pushed back around the Frontierland Station. Here’s a look around!

Some areas are awaiting final touches

New Props

Over near the entrance, there are new props that very closely resemble the crates that were found in the area when the attraction was known as Splash Mountain.

“Main Entrance” Sign

A new sign has been installed for the “Main Entrance” of the barn administrative offices for Tiana’s Foods. More signage is expected to be installed on the barn facade, including the Tiana’s Foods logo near the top.

Things are moving along well over at the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure construction site, but there was at least one potentially worrying signal recently when Bob Iger didn’t announce an opening date for the ride during the recent Annual Meeting of Shareholders webcast. It seemed like the perfect time to announce an opening for Disney’s big attraction in 2024, but it wasn’t even mentioned.

Of course, there was a huge reveal today of some of the Audio-Animatronic figures that guests will encounter on the ride, and there is one more round of character reveals scheduled for sometime next week. That is to say, we’re very confident in the summer opening timeframe, and there’s nothing to suggest that it will be missed. We were just expecting the Shareholder meeting to be the perfect time to announce an opening as Disney’s last big event before the ride opens and before the 2024 D23 Expo.
