While riding Living With the Land recently for our ongoing EPCOT Food & Wine coverage, we noticed new lighting changes since we last rode. The attraction as a whole appears to be getting quite a bit of attention in terms of restoring old effects and introducing new lighting. We’ve previously documented changes to the rainforest scene and the restoration of a brush fire effect.
During our recent ride, we noticed that there were some changes to some of the lighting in the prairie scene. The prairie dogs are now lit by a blue light, while the buffalo retain the white natural light with some bleed from the nearby blue lighting.
Another change since we last checked in on the ride was the addition of lighting on the goats on the right side of our boat before we enter the barn. As with many of the lighting changes, the team appears to be foregoing too much of a natural look and instead infusing some color into the scenes to make them rather vibrant.
As we’ve said before, it’s wonderful to see some of EPCOT’s classic attractions receive some updated and restored effects. The EPCOT Overhaul project left some to be desired, but little touchups in rides go a long way with the hardcore Walt Disney World fan community. We’d love to see even more as we head into 2025!
