It’ll be a phased extinction, but an extinction nonetheless. Starting January 13th, construction walls will move in and demolition will begin of a portion of DinoLand USA at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. To prepare for the reimagining, Disney has already started to adjust operations, including the relocation of character meet & greets and the removal of the Disney Vacation Club kiosk in the land. Here’s a look!
DinoLand USA Characters Relocated
Both Goofy and Pluto have relocated their meet-and-greet area. Ironically, they’re taking over an abandoned meet-and-greet area just outside of the Restaurantosaurus quick-service location. This area used to be the home of Launchpad McQuack when the Donald’s Dino-Bash overlay for the land debuted.
First, here’s a look at the area where Goofy and Pluto used to meet, near Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures gift shop. This area will be behind construction walls soon.

Now, Goofy and Pluto meet in the area near Restaurantosaurus, alternating meet-and-greet times throughout the day. When we dropped by, bird-spotting Goofy was meeting with guests!

Disney Vacation Club Kiosk Removed
Across from The Boneyard, the Disney Vacation Club kiosk has been removed. The face painting kiosk and outdoor vending spot remain and likely will remain for the rest of 2025. My guess is that DVC decided a construction zone wasn’t the best spot to sell their timeshare product, especially when there is an existing DVC kiosk near the entrance to Pandora – The World of Avatar.
Here’s a look at the empty space where the removed kiosk used to sit.
