While visiting Magic Kingdom this morning, we stumbled upon Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck, and Goofy roaming through Fantasyland. The encounter was a “surprise and delight” moment, but one that is occurring with some amount of consistency. Here’s what we saw, and how you might be able to catch Mickey Mouse roaming through Magic Kingdom on your next visit.
Mickey & Friends Roaming Magic Kingdom
When we visited, the characters arrived in Fantasyland via Cinderella Castle around 10:40am. From there, they roamed through Fantasyland, briefly pausing for a selfie or a high-five, but not for any formal photos or signatures. They kept moving like the celebrities that they are.
The character encounter was over in roughly 5-10 minutes, with some characters roaming toward “it’s a small world”, and Mickey Mouse returning to Cinderella Castle.
Guests who were looking for a more formal meet and greet experience were given information by Cast Members on where they could find characters after they were done roaming. For example, you can meet Mickey Mouse in Town Square Theater. Goofy and Minnie Mouse have formal meet and greets in Storybook Circus, etc.

From what we were told, there is no set schedule or location to find these roaming characters. That said, the 10:40am time appears to be a good time to try and find them in the area around Cinderella Castle. Be sure to check the Fantasyland side of the Castle, as well as the Tomorrowland side of the Castle. There’s no telling where Mickey & friends might want to roam!
It’s somewhat rare to find characters roaming at Walt Disney World theme parks. That said, Magic Kingdom is the spot to find roaming characters during the morning hours. Be sure to keep an eye out in Tomorrowland for Chip & Dale, Adventureland for Jasmine and Aladdin, Frontierland for the Country Bears, and Fantasyland for Peter Pan and Wendy, to name a few!
