Good morning from Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where overcast skies are offering a sneak peek at the psychedelic repainting of the 40-foot-tall Fender Stratocaster for the Muppets takeover of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Previously released concept art revealed the new look for the iconic set piece at the entrance to the attraction. Here’s a look at the latest repainting work!
Psychedelic Stratocaster Painting for Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Before we get to the guitar, we’re going to take a look at the ongoing repainting of the attraction building itself. We got a first look at the repainting during our last update, but the repainting now envelops most of the building. Here’s a look back at the tan that the building used to have, followed by a current look at the dark grey that the building has been updated to.
From here, we’ll try to get a sneak peek at the work that’s taking place behind scrims to transform the ruby-red Stratocaster into a ruby-red and psychedelic Stratocaster. It’s probably a bit easier to see the colors in person, but we’ve done the best we can, shooting through the scrim to try and show the swirls of different colors that are being applied to the guitar this afternoon.
Here’s a look at concept art released for the guitar. We’d expect the final product to be very close to the concept art at this point.
