Yes, it’s Star Wars Day, but what about The Muppets?! While visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios this morning, we took a break from the Star Wars Day madness to check in on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. As you’ll see in our photos below, the repainting project is nearly complete ahead of the start of Cast Member previews soon.
Giant Guitar Repainting Nearly Complete for Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
The construction walls have been removed from in front of the giant guitar, replaced by roll-away planters. The removal of the construction walls and arrival of the planters signal that the construction site is in its final phases, and that the area could open at any time.
Here’s our first unobstructed view of the guitar. The last time we checked in, there was still scaffolding present, blocking most of the guitar from a clear view. The colors are exceptionally vibrant, enhanced by the dull grey building behind them. The more I see the guitar, the less I hate that the pink replaced the originally planned ruby-red.
A sneak peek over the hedges shows that work is nearly complete. We can see that most of the piano keys have returned, including the golden key as a nod to a certain far-out band leader.
Elsewhere, new paint has been added to the highest point of the guitar. It’s not a perfect match to my eye, but perhaps close enough.
Of course, we’re still waiting for the band’s poster to be revealed.
Cast Members will soon be able to sign up for previews of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets. After that, we’d imagine that Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, Club 33, and other affinity groups would get a chance to ride.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is scheduled to officially open on May 26th.
