Walt Disney World has added Delta Air Lines to its Airport Luggage Transfer service, expanding the list of eligible carriers to four. Delta now joins American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines as participating airlines for the offering, which moves checked bags directly between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and select Disney Resorts Collection hotels. The service remains available to guests staying at Disney’s five Value Resort hotels, and Disney has signaled that more airlines could be added in the future.

Delta Air Lines Joins Disney World Luggage Transfer Service

Delta Air Lines is now a participating carrier for the Airport Luggage Transfer service, giving guests on eligible Delta itineraries access to the same door-to-airport bag handling already offered to American, Southwest, and United flyers. The addition brings the program to four major airlines operating out of MCO, covering a larger share of Walt Disney World guests than ever before.

Disney notes that the carrier list is not final. The company says additional airlines could be added soon and encourages guests to check back for the most current information. That open-ended language echoes earlier expansion announcements and suggests the program is still actively growing.

List of Eligible Resorts

The Airport Luggage Transfer service is available to guests checking in at Disney’s five Value Resort hotels. Those properties are Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort, Disney’s All-Star Music Resort, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, and Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

Guests staying at a Moderate or Deluxe Resort during their trip have historically been able to transfer to a Value Resort for their final night to take advantage of the service. As always, the offering is subject to change or cancellation without notice or liability.

How the Service Works for Arrivals

Guests arriving at Walt Disney World can send their bags ahead to their participating hotel by registering in advance. The registration form is available anytime from 30 days to one day (24 hours) before a departure flight, and guests will need both their Disney Resort confirmation number and their flight confirmation number to sign up. A confirmation email follows registration.

Guests who register more than seven days before their flight receive luggage tags in the mail, while those who register inside of seven days will not receive tags but will still have their bags delivered. Either way, bag tracking is available through a link in the confirmation email. After checking in online and dropping luggage with the airline as normal, guests can skip baggage claim at MCO and head directly to Walt Disney World Resort. Once at the hotel, guests contact Luggage Assistance by in-room phone or in the lobby to retrieve their bags, which may take up to four hours from the flight’s arrival time to appear.

How the Service Works for Departures

For the trip home, guests check in for their flight online starting 24 hours before departure and pay any baggage fees through their airline’s app or website. Bags are then dropped at Luggage Assistance in the resort lobby, where a valid government-issued photo ID is required. Disney recommends leaving any inbound tags on the bags for a smoother handoff.

Drop-off should happen between 24 hours and four hours before the flight’s departure time, and Luggage Assistance is staffed 24 hours a day to receive luggage. From there, guests head to the airport, skip the check-in line, and pick up their bags at baggage claim at their final destination. Outbound luggage is tracked through the airline’s own mobile app rather than the BagCheck link used for arrivals.

The Story So Far

  • The service first launched as a limited pilot at Disney’s Pop Century Resort in late March 2025, covering Southwest Airlines departures only.
  • Disney officially named and expanded the program to all Value Resorts in April 2025.
  • The company added Southwest arrivals in November 2025, creating a full round-trip option for the first time.
  • American Airlines and United Airlines joined the service beginning in May 2026.
  • Delta Air Lines is now a participating carrier, bringing the total to four airlines.
