Disney is seemingly teasing a return of more performers to the Festival of Fantasy Parade. In a recent Instagram post, the OfficialDisneyAuditions account posted that “Walt Disney World is seeking parade performers” and included the hashtag “#FestivalOfFantasy”. They also included lyrics from the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade in the Instagram post. Adding to the speculation is the inclusion of a photo of a parade performer that hasn’t been spotted in the parade since before the post-COVID pandemic cuts to the parade.
What adds some confusion to the post from the OfficialDisneyAuditions account, which is extremely focused on the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, is that the actual audition post specifically mentions seasonal work for Mickey’s Boo-To-You Parade and Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade…”and more”.
The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade has had some struggles lately, making cuts following COVID-19 that have seen an overall reduction of performers. Beyond that, some floats have been missing recently after running into mechanical issues.
Disney has not officially announced a restoration of performers or floats to the Festival of Fantasy Parade beyond a tease by the auditions Instagram account.
We’re going to categorize this as a rumor for now, given the inconsistencies of the post and actual audition.
