FDOT Installs New Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Signage

Earlier today, the Florida Department of Transportation installed some new signage denoting the boundary of the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. While this particular signage is a brand-new installation and didn’t replace Reedy Creek Improvement District signage, other RCID signage has been removed recently.

The placement of the sign above is somewhat interesting in that it is some 3,000 feet away from the nearest District boundary as the crow flies, but roughly 2 miles away from where the roadway it is located on enters CFTOD property.

In late March, Disney World and the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District announced a settlement and the voluntary dismissal of lawsuits against each other. Yesterday, we covered details of a newly announced development agreement between the District and Disney as Walt Disney World moves forward with plans to invest billions over the next ten years.
