Marvel branding comes to Disney Springs

In a rather interesting move, Disney has added the Marvel branding to the previously named Super Hero Headquarters. Here’s a look at how the sign used to look.

Thanks to a post by djkidkaz, we now get a look at the new signage, unveiled yesterday.

Obviously the addition of anything that bears the Marvel branding in Walt Disney World always peaks the curiosity due to the highly debated Marvel Master Agreement between Disney and Universal. Also changed in the sign is the removal of the Shield logo. One last note is the timing of this change, the beginning of the Disney fiscal year.

It is possible that Disney has either struck some sort of deal with Universal that went into effect with the new fiscal year, or that they have more money for the impending legal fees. Either way, it’s kind of encouraging to see more Marvel on property. Keep in mind that we expect to see a Doctor Strange appearance in the parks at some point as well.

Maybe 2017 is the year that Disney starts to regain some sort of theme park ownership over the $4B purchase it made back in the Summer of 2009.
