Latest Aerial Photos of Frozen Land Construction at Hong Kong Disneyland

While construction at the domestic Disney parks have come to a halt, work continues at Hong Kong Disneyland where the park is undergoing a massive transformation that includes an unprecedented addition to their Sleeping Beauty Castle and a Frozen land!

Before we take a look at the latest work, let’s take a look at the concept art and get our bearings a bit. In this overview concept art, we can see the town of Arendelle on the left, a lake in the foreground, castle in the middle, Elsa’s frozen castle in the upper left, and Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs roller coaster to the right.

Here’s some more concept art of the walk-through town of Arendelle where guests will be able to shop and dine.

The town is also very likely where guests will be able to ride Frozen Ever After, a clone of the popular attraction at EPCOT. Frozen Ever After takes guests on an adventurous journey through the kingdom of Arendelle. And during visits, guests will have the chance to see Elsa create a beautiful “winter-in-summer” day.

Making our way across the lake, we find Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs roller coaster. It’s said that this will be a very similar ride system to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, but time will tell. Here’s a look at the concept art.

Thanks to some recent drone footage, we get a wonderful look at the Frozen land taking shape! In this overview photo, we can see how the land fits into the Fantasyland section of the park. In the bottom of the photo, you can barely see the black roof of it’s a small world. On the extreme top of the photo, you can see the winding tan walkway towards Toy Story Land. On the left of the photo, you can see the Castle of Magical Dreams construction site.

Taking a more direct look at the construction site, we can start to make out some notable features and landmarks.

Working left to right, we can see the land entrance will be behind their Dumbo attraction. The red roof is the Fantasyland station for their train. It looks like guests will enter the land by walking under the train tracks, kind of like Toontown at Disneyland.

Perhaps the most significant part of the photo is the show building for Frozen Ever After on the right side of the image where we can see the outline of the attraction flume.

In this slightly wider image, we can see the Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs roller coaster taking shape at the bottom of the image. Keep in mind that guests will enter from the left side of the drone photo, placing Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs roller coaster to the bottom of the drone photo.

Overall, the progress is impressive and the land looks like it’ll be a good addition to Hong Kong Disneyland utilizing an already popular ride and ride system.

This Frozen-themed land is just the latest addition to Hong Kong Disneyland as the park looks to upgrade its offerings. The first phase of a Marvel-themed area was just completed with the opening of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Nano Battle! The Castle of Magical Dreams is expected to be completed this year too. An opening date for the new Frozen-themed area hasn’t been announced.
