Walt Disney Imagineering Files Permit for Spaceship Earth Work

Walt Disney Imagineering may be raising the Spaceship Earth refurbishment project from the “dead” with a new permit issued to long-time Disney Parks contractor Whiting Turner.

Whiting Turner has worked on a myriad of Disney World projects over the years, including Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, TRON Lightcycle Run, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel, Toy Story Land, and more. Whiting Turner also worked on the new arrival experience for EPCOT by removing the Leave a Legacy monoliths and crafting new hardscape.

The permit, which lists the work to be completed as “installation of source power and control equipment”, has Spaceship Earth listed as the address for the work. While Disney hasn’t said that the postponed Spaceship Earth refurbishment is back on, the permit address could point to a restart of some of the work needed for the project.
