While visiting EPCOT today, we stopped in to the various shops around the Morocco Pavilion and found quite a bit of merchandise deeply discounted. Anything from dresses to jewelry and more is marked between 40-50% off at the moment.

Disney has previously announced that they will be taking over the operations of the shops and restaurants in the Morocco Pavilion after Marrakesh Moroccan Restaurant LLC faced financial hardship since EPCOT reopened in July. The takeover will be complete by the end of 2020, months after Disney filed a debt against Marrakesh Moroccan Restaurant LLC in September 2020.

Back in April, Marrakesh Moroccan Restaurant LLC filed for a $1-2 million Paycheck Protection Program loan for their 260 employees. More recently, Tangierine Café was forced to reclose due to lack of demand after initially reopening with the rest of EPCOT in July.

Now, merchandise is being discounted ahead of Disney’s takeover. Here’s a look at what we found today.

It would appear as if Disney has not taken over control of the shops and restaurants just yet as the discount signs aren’t consistent with other discount signs found around Disney World.

If we had to guess, it’s likely Disney will take over operations in early December, which is when Spice Road Table no longer accepts reservations. Until then, you might want to pop into the Morocco Pavilion to find some deals!
