While visiting EPCOT today, we decided to check in on the PLAY! Pavilion project tucked away in the corner of World Discovery. The PLAY! Pavilion has kind of quietly and slowly progressing, with most of the work likely taking place out of view of guests on the interior of the building. The most visible part of the project so far has been the roof work taking place. As you’ll see in the photos below, the roof work appears to be completed, but a closer eye will reveal that work is very likely taking place out of guest view.
First, here’s an overview of the structure. We’ll head into the BlogMickey.com archives to compare it with an earlier photo of the structure.

March 2020:
Now, a closer look at the building earlier today shows a construction worker on top and some rope leading down the side. It’s likely that work is taking place just out of our viewpoint to finish up the roof project.
The rope would likely support a worker scaling the side of the structure as seen in our archive photo below.
We can also see a work truck parked on the pathway leading to the main entrance of the building.
It also looks like the top of the roof has had some additional lightning rods installed.
As a reminder, here’s a look at concept art for the exterior and interior of the finished PLAY! Pavilion project.
