Boom in Traffic Expected at Orlando International Airport Over 4th of July Holiday

According to data released by the Orlando International Airport (MCO), more than 1.5 million travelers are expected to pass through the airport during the 13-day 4th of July holiday travel period.

There will be more than 100,000 travelers per day from June 25th to July 7th, with a peak of nearly 135,000 passengers expected on July 3rd. When compared to the same timeframe in 2019, 2021 numbers will only be off by 14% – signaling a significant return of domestic travel as international travel remains limited.

MCO suggests that passengers return to pre-pandemic travel behavior including arriving early, preparing for long lines, and anticipating traffic congestion.

This summer promises to be a busy one at Walt Disney World as Disney brings back fireworks on July 1st and builds towards their 50th Anniversary celebrations starting on October 1, 2021.
