According to Cast Members that BlogMickey.com spoke with, VIP Tours no longer has access to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance after a short stint of offering guests on the tours access to the attraction without the need for a boarding group.

On Sunday July 11th, VIP Tours implemented a new policy that allowed all guests on a VIP Tour access to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance once per day without the need to secure a boarding group. Now, guests on a VIP Tour must, once again, book their own Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group. If guests on the VIP Tour are unsuccessful in securing a Boarding Group, they will be unable to ride.

When asked why the change took place, a representative for VIP Tours simply stated that the decision to revoke access was out of their hands and that they apologize for the inconvenience.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance remains the only attraction at Walt Disney World that a guest can not enter a standby line for. Disney has not said when, if ever, they plan on opening up a standby line for Rise of the Resistance.
