Marley the American Crocodile Removed from Animal Kingdom as Tropical America Plans Put into Motion

    Published:

Marley the American crocodile has left Disney’s Animal Kingdom as part of the first phases of the Tropical Americas retheme of DinoLand USA. Guests used to be able to find Marley either sunning himself or in the water near the Restaurantosaurus dining location in DinoLand USA.

As part of the first phase of the Tropical Americas construction, Disney moved Marley to a new facility. Cast Members were not sure where Marley was moved yet, but we wish him all the best in his retirement (he’s about 60 years old)! As you can see in the photos below, the informational plaque has been removed from the wooden railing, and the environment has been drained following Marley’s removal.

Other parts of DinoLand USA are expected to start shutting down next month, although Disney has not announced any closures yet and they have not responded to requests for comment. It is expected that Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama roadside carnival area will close first, with DINOSAUR expected to remain open into next year.

The Dino-Rama area is already a shadow of its former self with the removal of the Primevil Whirl attraction years ago. As you can see in our annotated overlay below, the Dino-Rama area is where the Encanto-themed attraction is expected to go, and that’s where we believe construction will begin first.

    1. Why would they name it Tropical Americas? I get th tie in but it doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. It will be shortened by guests over time.
