2024 Beach Club Gingerbread Carousel Themed to ‘Mickey’s Christmas Carol’

|

The next gingerbread house we’re taking a look at is the gingerbread carousel over at Disney’s Beach Club. This year, the gingerbread carousel is themed to Mickey’s Christmas Carol. Last year, the gingerbread carousel was themed to Ducktales World Showcase Adventure from EPCOT. We made it out to the Beach Club Resort yesterday before heading out to Disney Jollywood Nights and found that the carousel was complete! Let’s take a look around.

The spinning gingerbread carousel is back at Disney’s Beach Club Resort with an all-new theme this year. Before we take a look at the details of the Mickey’s Christmas Carol gingerbread caruosel, here are some fun facts about what it takes to make the carousel possible!

  • 432 pounds of honey
  • 1200 pounds of rye flour
  • 100 pounds of eggs
  • 25 pounds of spices
  • 10 pounds of simple syrup
  • 200 pounds of icing
  • 10 quarts of egg whites
  • 100 pounds of confectioner’s sugar
  • 200 gum paste flowers
  • 50 pounds of dark chocolate
  • Lots of enthusiasm, energy, and talent
  • 2023 pieces of gingerbread

Scrooge McDuck

The first horse is the Scrooge McDuck horse. As you’d imagine, the theme here is: money. A wonderful sculpt of Scrooge is found in a wreath with dollar bills and coins scattered throughout.

Ghost of Christmas Past

The next horse that we’ll take a look at is a horse themed to Jiminy Cricket, who portrays the Ghost of Christmas Past. In a scene depicted on the horse, Jiminy Cricket shows Scrooge a vision of his early life where his love of money wins over his love of Isabelle.

Ghost of Christmas Present

Next up is the Ghost of Christmas Present horse, which depicts Willie the Giant with Scrooge in his pocket. A scene on top of the horse has a banquet Christmas dinner, complete with pig and cornucopia.

Ghost of Christmas Future

The final horse on the carousel is the Ghost of Christmas Future, which depicts Pete and a scene in the cemetery where Scrooge learns that he’s “the richest man in the cemetery” as Pete pushes him into his grave. A tombstone with “RIP Ebenezer Scrooge” etched into it sits atop the horse.

Jacob Marley

The final horse sits separate from the carousel and features the ghost of Jacob Marley – represented by Goofy in the movie. Chains cover the horse, along with some more money and a piggy bank.
