With the announcement of event dates and ticket details for the 2025 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, we wanted to take a look at what’s new for this year’s event. Magic Kingdom’s premier Halloween party is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year, and with a new year comes a significant price hike. So what’s new? As it turns out – not much. Here’s what Walt Disney World has announced.
What’s New at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party 2025?
According to the Walt Disney World website, there are only three minor updates to this year’s party. It’s always tough to determine “what’s new” some three months before the party begins as Disney occasionally makes announcements as we get closer to the mid-August start date, but with tickets going on sale to select guests as early as this Thursday, I know many of you are trying to decide if the party is worth it or not.
Mickey & Minnie Meeting Together
The first thing that is “new” this year is that Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will be meeting together at Town Square Theater. Traditionally, Minnie Mouse has met at Storybook Circus and Mickey Mouse at Town Square. That said, last year they each received an updated costume…but didn’t meet together! That changes in 2025.
Storybook Circus Enhancements For Young Children
It sounds like Disney is really leaning into Storybook Circus acting as a sort of mini-land to which they can add enhancements. We’ve seen this in recent years with Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and now it looks like Disney is planning on creating a fun environment for families with young children during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Here’s the official word:
Rediscover Storybook Circus—transformed into a happy haunt for families with younger children
Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires Dance Party
Keeping with the tradition of using the Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland for teens, Walt Disney World has announced that they will have a reimagined dance party inspired by the film ZOMBIES 4: Dawn of the Vampires.
Refreshed Look for Jack Skellington
While not officially presented as something that is new for the party, guests will notice that Jack Skellington has a new, refreshed look debuting this year. For more on the changes, check out our earlier article.
New Villains
Disney has teased, but not announced, the presence of “new and returning Disney Villains” at the party. No further details are available as to what Villains will be at the party, and if guests will be able to meet with them or just see them in a parade or distanced encounter.
And that’s it. Just a handful of new offerings this year. Of course, there will be new merchandise and new food, but in terms of new things to do or experience, this is all we’re expecting as we head into the opening of ticket sales. It’s a bit of a letdown if I’m being honest. For frequent visitors, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has started to feel a bit stale in recent years given that the only big changes to the party since pre-COVID has been a 64% increase in prices.
We’ll have more thoughts on the price increase and perceived value to determine whether or not a visit to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is worth it this year, but if you visited last year or anytime in the past few years, nothing new of significance has been announced for this year’s edition of the party.
