According to an update from Walt Disney World, boat transportation to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will be temporarily suspended in January 2026. The suspension comes as Disney begins a 3-month refurbishment on the dock. Here’s the latest.
Boat Transportation Suspended to Wilderness Lodge in January 2026
From Jan. 12, 2026, through early April 2026, the boat dock at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo routine maintenance. The dock will be closed and boat transportation temporarily suspended from Jan. 12–30.
While the notice doesn’t provide more information, it is possible that Disney will provide more bus service during the temporary suspension of boat transportation. Buses already travel between Wilderness Lodge, Magic Kingdom, and Fort Wilderness.
Currently, boats travel from Wilderness Lodge to either Magic Kingdom or Fort Wilderness. In the afternoons, boat transportation adds Disney’s Contemporary Resort to the loop as well.
Walt Disney World also recently announced that the exterior refurbishment at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge would continue through late 2026.
