FREE Cookie Ranking & Photos from Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2025

|

It’s the holiday season at Walt Disney World, and that can only mean one thing for Magic Kingdom: the return of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The event returns again this year, and we were in attendance on opening night to make our way around the party to check out what’s new and to enjoy some returning favorites. In this article, we’re going to take a look at all of the free cookies (and drinks) that are available during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party 2025. We’ll have photos of all of the cookies, along with ranking our favorites. Let’s take a bite!

As you may know, guests attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party can enjoy free cookies and seasonal beverages at a number of locations around Magic Kingdom. This is a holiday spin on the free trick-or-treating that is offered during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

While we usually spend most of our evening along Main Street USA to capture the entertainment, there really wasn’t much new this year. That meant that we could do some actual hard-hitting investigative journalism and run around Magic Kingdom, trying the full lineup of free cookies and seasonal beverages!

We’ll start with a full list of all of the free cookies, followed by our ranking!

  • Red Velvet Cake Cookie | The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland
  • Buttercream-Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie | Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland
made with M&M’S® Milk Chocolate Minis
  • Snowman-Shaped Pretzel | Walt Disney World Railroad station in Fantasyland
  • Caramel Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookie | Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland
  • Hot Cocoa Cookie | Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland
    made with DOVE® Chocolate Pieces
  • Buttercream-Frosted Gingerbread Cookie | Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland

Where: The Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland
Drink: Apple Cider

Starting in Tomorrowland, we have the Red Velvet Cake Cookie. We found ours to be nice and moist, although I wish the red velvet flavor came through a bit more.

In terms of a drink, there is a standard apple cider (not sure why it looks like orange juice in some photos). The apple cider is serviceable, with a bit of sediment waiting for you at the bottom of the cup.

Where: Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café in Tomorrowland
Drink: Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s

Next up is the Buttercream-Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie. What a dynamic cookie we have here. Not only is there a base of chocolate chip, it’s then infused with M&M’S Milk Chocolate Minis, topped with a flavorful buttercream, and then more M&M’S Milk Chocolate Minis sprinkled on top.

When you add to the fact that this is just steps away from the Disney Jr. Jingle Jam dance party in Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, you have a recipe for a good time. The Joffrey’s-branded hot cocoa is also better than what you’d probably expect.

Snowman-Shaped Pretzel

Where: Walt Disney World Railroad station in Fantasyland
Drink: Fruit punch

The snowman-shaped pretzel is the outlier this year. It’s very obviously not a cookie, but it does come in a festive shape, which is fun. I found the pretzel to be incredibly dry. There are packs of mustard available, should that be something you’re interested in. I would’ve loved a cheese sauce.

While the pretzel wasn’t my favorite, the fruit punch was good.

Where: Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland
Drink: Eggnog

I’ll actually start with the drink here. I am not a fan of eggnog, so I can’t speak to the quality, but I will note that Gaston’s Tavern is the only location serving it as part of the complimentary cookies & drink offering.

Turning our attention to the cookie itself, it was lovely. The soft caramel was embedded into the cookie, creating a gooey molar whenever you found some caramel. What was really interesting was the hard pretzel that was also found in the cookie. A stark departure from the caramel, the pretzel offered a texture change that was fun.

Where: Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland
Drink: Hot Cocoa by Joffrey’s

This hot cocoa cookie was a chocolate overload! The hot cocoa flavor of the cookie was already rich enough, but then add in some Dove chocolate and you have a really rich flavor profile.

Where: Sunshine Tree Terrace in Adventureland
Drink: Apple cider

This was, by far, the most popular cookie of the evening in terms of crowds. There was a line here that included a switchback near Sunshine Tree Terrace, and it still would stretch to the Adventureland bridge. Thankfully, while many of the lines looked long, they moved quickly.

In terms of the cookie itself, I thought it was ok. It wasn’t gingerbread-y enough for me in texture, but the flavor was at least 90% of the way there. The buttercream paired nicely, if not a touch overwhelming.

While the order above was dictated by the list that Walt Disney World put together, we want to rank the free cookies now to help you prioritize if need be. First, they’re free, so they all are winners in my book. And second, they are all individually packaged, which means that you can grab as many as you’d like (but you’re limited to one per time through the line).

Ok, here’s how we’d rank the free cookies this year:

  1. Buttercream-Frosted Chocolate Chip Cookie
  2. Caramel Pretzel Chocolate Chip Cookie
  3. Hot Cocoa Cookie
  4. Red Velvet Cake Cookie
  5. Buttercream-Frosted Gingerbread Cookie
  6. Snowman-Shaped Pretzel
