Passengers aboard the new Disney Adventure ship saw their vacation abruptly come to an end after the May 7-11 sailing was canceled due to what guests described as significant mechanical issues.

According to multiple guest reports shared online, the ship remained docked in Singapore for more than a full day after embarkation before Disney Cruise Line officially canceled the voyage on May 8. Guests were informed they would receive a full refund, a 50% discount on a future Disney cruise, hotel accommodations for one night, and reimbursement assistance for certain travel-related expenses.

The cancellation marks the latest operational issue for the Singapore-based ship, which itself saw its debut delayed from late 2025 to March 2026 because of shipbuilding delays.

Passengers began posting online Thursday evening after noticing the ship had still not departed Singapore hours after its scheduled sail-away time.

A letter distributed to passengers aboard the canceled sailing outlined the compensation package and next steps for affected guests.

According to the notice, Disney Cruise Line is automatically providing:

  • A 100% refund of the cruise fare and unused onboard services
  • 50% off a future Disney cruise
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi access during the disruption

The letter also stated that Disney would provide a complimentary hotel stay at the JW Marriott Singapore South Beach for the evening, cover potential flight change fees, and reimburse up to $500 per stateroom for incidental expenses.

Guests were instructed to begin preparing luggage for disembarkation, which would occur in groups based on luggage tag assignments.

Disney additionally advised passengers with flights later in the week to contact airlines or travel providers to explore earlier return options.

The cancellation comes after a rocky rollout for Disney Adventure.

The massive vessel, the largest ship in Disney Cruise Line’s fleet, was originally supposed to debut in December 2025. However, Disney delayed the maiden voyage by nearly three months, citing “unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process.”

It is expected that the Disney Adventure will sail on Monday, May 11th, as previously planned.
