runDisney changes the names of some of its races

runDisney has changed the naming of some of its races on their website recently. Here are the changes:

  • Dumbo Double Dare now named the Disneyland Double Dare
  • Lumiere’s Two-Course Challenge now named the Disney Two-Course Challenge
  • Mickey’s Holiday 5k now named the Disney Fall Feast 5k

It’s kind of interesting to see the “generic” sanitization of the names. Of particular interest is the renaming of Lumiere’s Two-Course Challenge. The challenge was introduced just last November and a renaming just a few months later is curious.

In addition to the changes above, runDisney dropped the ‘Avengers’ tag from the Superhero Half Marathon Weekend last year.

We’ll keep an eye on the site and update this post should other races be renamed as well.
