Splash Mountain Closing for Refurbishment in January 2020

As we get closer to the new year, we’re getting more information about refurbishments taking place around Walt Disney World Resort. We already covered the Test Track refurbishment that will take place in early 2020, and we now have another early 2020 refurbishment.

Beginning on January 6, 2020, Splash Mountain will be closed for its annual refurbishment. The refurbishment will last through February 27, 2020, scheduled to reopen to guests on February 28th. Disney hasn’t made available what will be done to the attraction during the downtime, but general maintenance typically takes place this time every year.

  1. Can anyone comment on if the Splash Mountain (or any ride) refurbishments could last longer than the stated duration? Ironically we plan on coming February 27 but would hate for this to get pushed back by a week and is to miss riding it. Thoughts?
