Pathway Demolition Under Spaceship Earth; Walkway Closures in Effect

|

|

With the Gateway Gifts gift shop now closed for refurbishment, crews have closed off the pathway that runs under the left side of Spaceship Earth, in front of the shop.

We made it out to Epcot this morning to take a look at the work and the walkway closures. As you can see below, the pathway that runs under Spaceship Earth and to the left is now behind planters as work continues behind it.

On the other side, the pathway is blocked off near Guest Relations, creating a dead end for now.

Here’s a map showing the blocked off pathway.

Disney even has some ropes up near the exit to Spaceship Earth, encouraging guests to not head towards the dead end unless they need to visit Guest Relations.

Here’s a look at the work taking place between the two construction walls as seen from the Monorail and from the ground.

Finally, here’s a look at a soon-to-open pathway next to Guest Relations. As we noted in an earlier article looking at an unreleased version of the Epcot map, walkways around the Epcot “spine” will be impacted quite heavily soon. One such bypass walkway will start near Guest Relations and use the recently revealed pathway next to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

As always, keep checking back with us here at BlogMickey.com as we continue to keep an eye on projects and more taking place around the Disney Parks!
