Walt Disney World Reportedly Offers ESPN Wide World of Sports to NBA to Finish Season

It started as a bit of a pipe dream by a single analyst, but the idea of the NBA coming to Walt Disney World to finish their season is gaining traction according to NBA insiders. As a refresher, Yahoo Sports writer Keith Smith made a good argument for finishing the NBA season at Walt Disney World. Smith argued that Disney has everything needed to create a “bubble” site to keep players and staff safe. Now, it looks like that idea has moved beyond an argument and into the consciousness of the NBA.

According to Shams Charania, senior lead NBA insider for The Athletic and Stadium, the NBA is not only looking into using the ESPN Wide World of Sports as a venue to finish their season, but Disney has actually offered the property for their use.

Of course, the NBA and Disney would still need to establish a timeline and safety procedures, but its interesting nonetheless that this idea has gained traction. Disney and the NBA most recently teamed up to bring The NBA Experience to Disney Springs.
