Earlier today, we brought you a first look at the first TRON Lightcycle Run canopy piece being installed at Magic Kingdom. Now, we have a behind-the-scenes look at the installation courtesy of Imagineer Zach Riddley. Here’s a look at the photos he posted to Instagram as well as what he had to say about the installation.
I’m excited to share these images of the very first canopy piece being installed at TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom this morning! This is one of nearly 40 pieces that will create a dramatic “curved wave” canopy, known as the Upload Conduit, which will flow organically over Guests as they race underneath on their Lightcycles. I’m proud of all the work our Imagineers have put into this @WaltDisneyWorld attraction so far, and the exciting work ahead to bring the Grid to life in Tomorrowland!
In our earlier post, we noticed Imagineers watching the installation from what will become a guest walkway.
As a reminder, here’s a look at the TRON Lightcycle Run concept art for Magic Kingdom, followed by a look at the sister attraction currently operating at Shanghai Disneyland.
