While visiting EPCOT recently, we had a wonderful sunset view directly into the shell of the eastern CommuniCore buildings and the latest work taking place at the former Electric Umbrella quick service restaurant.

We’ll start with Electric Umbrella and the ever-growing pile of rubble in front of the restaurant as Disney continues to gut the space. It’s kind of interesting to think that such a heavy amount of work is taking place in the same building that houses the temporary MouseGear shopping area.

As you’ll see in the increasingly zoomed in photos below, the kitchen area of Electric Umbrella has been demolished as Disney continues to prepare the space for a new restaurant.

An even closer look shows the last remaining bit of themed tile from the Electric Umbrella restrooms.

Moving to our right, and towards the former MouseGear location, we don’t notice too much new demolition since Disney took down the second floor dining area for Electric Umbrella in a previous update.

Shifting our focus to the former MouseGear location, we can see Disney’s continued efforts in only preserving the skeleton of the structure.

Elsewhere on the construction site, we can see that the central anchor for the Pin Central canopies is mysteriously still standing.

Shifting our attention to Innoventions West, not much work has taken place that we haven’t already documented.
