Latest Look at EPCOT Prism Pylon Fountain Construction

While visiting EPCOT recently, we noticed that the large crane wasn’t extended like what we saw a few days ago, which made us curious about the latest progress taking shape for the EPCOT prism pylon fountain. Not only was the crane not visible, but the walkway that was utilized by crews to access the center of the fountain was missing too. Could they be done with the theming on the fountain so quickly? As it turns out, no, but we do have a look at the latest progress for you!

As a reminder, Disney is currently working on installing some themed slabs on the fountain, as seen in this earlier photo below.

Here’s an updated look at the progress. It appears that Disney is nearly finished installing the first “ring” of theming on the fountain.

The three acrylic pylons stand over 16 feet tall and weigh more than 4,000 pounds. While crews were able to install the prism pylons overnight, work continues on the surrounding area. Lead Imagineer Zach Riddley says that the fountain will be completed later this year.
