Work has begun on refurbishment of The Wave…of American Flavors and lobby area at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. As a result, the check-in area has been moved to the second floor. Here’s a look around at the work, which appears to be in early stages and should be completed in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary beginning in October.
Signage in the area shows that Disney has begun to crack down even more on backstage photos, which in this case would be behind the curtain as the lobby is a guest area, according to Cast Members we spoke with. Crews could be heard actively working in The Wave…of American Flavors, which is rumored to become a steakhouse when it reopens.
Here’s a look at the second floor check-in experience, which takes over a typically unused area to the left of the California Grill podium.
