Construction Walls Expand to New Section of Grand Floridian Lobby for Refurbishment Project

|

It’s been a few weeks since we last checked in on the Grand Floridian main building refurbishment, so we decided to stop by recently and take a look at the current work. As you can see, the construction walls in the lobby have shifted from the 1/3rd closest to the main entrance to now cover more than 2/3rd’s of the lobby as work continues on the guest rooms and common areas above. Work on a comprehensive lobby refresh will likely not start until next year.

We’ll start with a look at the construction from an elevated vantage point on the second floor of the main building.

From the ground, we can see that the lobby is now mostly construction walls, with some seating and the piano in a small, accessible section near the main entrance to the building from the parking lot.
