While visiting Disney’s BoardWalk recently, we checked in on the construction taking place on the east end for The Cake Bake Shop. The road to this point has been a long one, starting back in July 2022 when Disney World began dismantling the ESPN Club. The work led to the gutting of the space before construction could begin around this time last year.
Progress has been quite slow, and a 2023 opening timeframe was changed to “coming soon” back in August 2023, and then a 2024 timeframe was announced in mid-September 2023. Technically, the September 2023 announcement said that doors would be open “early next year”. That’s looking rather unlikely too, with some structural and electrical work still underway.
We’ll walk from the BoardWalk Villas over toward The Cake Bake Shop in our photo update below as we take a closer look at the current state of the venue.
