In May of 2015, Disney struck a land lease deal with Duke Energy to put a solar farm near Epcot. Here’s a look at how the construction is progressing.

Why this matters

Apart from looking cool, Disney will lease the land to Duke Energy over the next 15 years and then buy back some of the energy generated. It also marks Disney’s biggest investment in solar energy and will cover 20 acres near the entrance to Epcot.
