Disneyland Paris Replaces Free FastPass with Paid “Disney Premier Access”

Disneyland Paris has just announced that they will be replacing their free FastPass program with a new paid offering – Disney Premier Access. This program is similar to what is offered at Shanghai Disneyland, and a paid offering is rumored for Walt Disney World. Here are the details for the Disneyland Paris offering:

    Standby Pass (Free)

The new Standby Pass is a free service, available via the official Disneyland Paris app. During certain periods of the day, you will need to reserve a Standby Pass to be able to join the queue for some of our most popular attractions during a specific allocated 30-minute time slot (subject to availability).

    How does it work?

    1. Download the free Disneyland® Paris app via the App Store or Google Play.
    2. Create or log in to your Disney account (available to Guests aged 18 and over).
    3. Link your Park Tickets or Passes to your Disney account.
    4. After entering the Parks, you’ll be able to choose an attraction and reserve a Standby Pass (if Standby Pass is activated for that attraction) for each person who wishes to ride. We will allocate you the next available time slot*.
    5. Arrive at the attraction entrance during your allocated 30-minute time slot and be ready to present your Standby Pass QR code.
    6. Join the queue and get ready to enjoy!

    Important information

    • The Standby Pass service will only be activated during certain periods of the day in order to help reduce wait times for certain attractions. You can still queue for these attractions without a Standby Pass at the beginning and at the end of the day (times may vary).
    • You can only reserve one Standby Pass at a time, from 5 minutes after entering the Disney Parks.
    • When your allocated time slot has begun, you may reserve a Standby Pass for another attraction.
    • It is not possible to cancel or transfer a Standby Pass.
    • Psst! To manage your Standby Passes easily during the day, you can link all the Tickets and Passes for each member of your group to a single Disney account.

    Disney Premier Access (Paid)

Hit top speed like Lightning McQueen with Disney Premier Access and join the fast lane that lets you skip the regular queue at some of our most popular attractions.

With Disney Premier Access under the bonnet, you’ll fill up your day with even more smiles per hour!

Purchasing a Disney Premier Access gives you fast access to the attraction you choose, but does not guarantee immediate access.

How to Buy Disney Premier Access

    • Open up the official Disneyland Paris app and sign in to your Disney Account or create one.
    • Link your Ticket, Pass or Hotel + Tickets package to your account. Tip: do this before your visit to save time!
    • Once you’re in the Disney Parks, choose an attraction and select the Guests that want to ride. You’ll be offered a time slot, depending on availability.
    • After you’ve paid, head to the dedicated line of the attraction during your allocated time slot and present your QR codes (in the “My Disney Premier Access” section of the app).

    Pricing

Pricing for Disney Premier Access will be per ride, and range from €8 to €15 depending on attraction and day of visit.

You may buy a maximum of 3 Disney Premier Access for each attraction per Guest per day, and up to 12 Disney Premier Access for one attraction and one time slot at a time, depending upon availability.
There are a limited number of Disney Premier Access available for each time slot.

A Disney Premier Access is valid for a single use only for a chosen attraction at a given time slot and on the date of purchase.

You can only buy Disney Premier Access for one attraction at a time. To buy for another attraction, simply start another purchase and select the attraction you want to ride to see if there are any time slots available.

    1. Am I reading this correctly? So on top of paying $125 per day to get in the park I’ll now have to pay an extra 8-15 dollars if I want a sort of fast pass access. So this will be per ride and per person? Let’s hope Disney World doesn’t do the same because that’s where I will draw the line.

    2. If i want to stare at a smartphone half of the day, I can do that at home for free… Besides, 8 to 15 Euro? That´s insane! I will never visit DLP again, period.

    3. can’t wait till this comes to Florida. nothing like spending an extra $2,000 a day so my family of 5 can go on rides… lol

    4. Don’t see the logic here. Overall sales must be down. So instead of offering something to encourage ppl back, they throw into the mix something that will ‘definitely’ put ppl off.

It’s going to be costing a family of 5 (age 3+) ‘upwards’ of €40 p/ride for a premier pass!!! I hope ppl boycott this out of principle tbh. This isn’t about COVID-19, it’s daylight robbery…pure & simple. The standby pass implementation is testament to that.

If you’ve ever tried waiting in a queue with kids for over 30mins, you know exactly how it feels.
This could possibly reduce attendance in the park, and that’s what it will do incredibly well.
I will have to seriously consider if any more visits to DLP are financially viable.
