Facade Modifications Underway on Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. at Magic Kingdom

While TRON Lightcycle Run recently hit a major milestone, there’s still plenty to do to get the attraction ready for a late-2022/early-2023 opening at Magic Kingdom. While riding the Tomorrowland PeopleMover, we noticed that some construction was happening on the Tomorrowland Light & Power Co. building, aka the Space Mountain gift shop.

As you can see in the photos below, there is some construction happening on the exterior of the building. It’s possible that this work is part of the permit filed back in December 2021 by Walt Disney Imagineering for facade modifications.

Disney likely has plans to make this walkway as wide as possible for the upcoming influx of guests who will be racing to TRON Lightcycle Run to start their day at Magic Kingdom.

Here’s a look at where the pathway comes out on the other side of the Tomorrowland PeopleMover.
