PHOTOS: Walt Disney World Monorail System Faces Continued Downtime

The Walt Disney World monorail system is still down this morning following a closure around 8pm last night, according to Cast Members. The monorails, which are so old that the creator of the monorail system called Disney World’s monorails the “duct tape monorails”, are undergoing a second round of refurbishment that dates back to June 2019.

Here’s a look at the scene this morning at the Ticket and Transportation Center, where guests are encouraged to take the Ferryboats or buses to Magic Kingdom. The monorails are parked in the station, but not moving and Cast Members are hopeful to get them running again later today. Both the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT monorail lines are down.
