Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Budgets More Than $5 Million to Fight Disney Next Year

According to a budget presentation from Central Florida Tourism Oversight District Administrator Glen Gilzean, the District is budgeting more than $5 million next year to continue its fight with Disney World. An itemized list shows that the District plans on budgeting $4.5 million for litigation fees alone. Other itemized costs include advisors and policy fees as they continue to shape the future of the District.

Here’s a look at the budget for “Disney Induced Expenses”, which total more than $7 million since Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ Board of Supervisors took on the fight with Disney earlier this year.

In today’s meeting, the Reedy Creek Fire Department showed up in force to register their disapproval with Gilzean’s removal of Annual Pass benefits for District employees.

    1. Fighting Disney is expensive. Disney will be taxed on the fight Disney created. If you go to Disney theme parks, that’s what you’re paying for plus money losing Woke movies.

    2. Are expenses incurred by this sham board not paid for _by_ Disney taxes incurred in the district? And so this DeSantis-created rubber stamp is using Disney tax monies to fight against Disney itself? How is that even legal let alone ethical? Don’t boards have statutory, regulatory and fiduciary duties to the entities they oversee and control?
