According to an update from Walt Disney World, an exterior refurbishment has begun at Wilderness Lodge. An end date for the refurbishment has not been listed, but it could be a lengthy refurbishment. First, here’s the statement from Disney World:
Starting August 5, 2024, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo exterior refurbishment work. During this time, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.
If the announced refurbishment has anything to do with a recently filed permit, the refurbishment could last through the end of 2026. Back in late July, we covered a permit that was filed by Disney for “general construction” at Wilderness Lodge. The contractor is Adena Corporation and the expiration date on the Notice of Commencement is December 25, 2026. Note that this permit is different than a permit that suggests that Disney is going to build a hotel over at Disney’s Fort Wilderness.
